The Countryside and Villages of the Terroir of Caux

Villages with Local Markets and Produce: Spend the morning at one of the nearby local markets: Auffay on Fridays, Val-de-Saâne on Saturdays, Luneray on Sundays, or Quiberville-sur-Mer for fresh seafood.
You’ll also find local produce at the Verger de Beaunay in Belmesnil, as well as linen shops—this region is home to a significant part of the world’s flax production.

Outdoor Activities and Animal Parks: Start the day at the Muchedent Canadian Park (bison, wolves, canoeing...), or try the Arbr’aventure treetop adventure park. Then enjoy a picnic or lunch in Clères followed by an afternoon visit to its botanical and zoological park.

Vasterival Garden and Beach: Discover one of the most beautiful valleuses (seaside valleys) of the Terroir of Caux, featuring a remarkable garden and a hidden beach accessible via a small path and a large staircase carved into the natural cliffside of the Alabaster Coast.

The Alabaster Coast: Normandy’s Cliffs and Beaches

Dieppe Harbour, Clifftop Views, and Gardens in Varengeville-sur-Mer: Spend the morning exploring the fish market at Dieppe’s harbor, take a stroll along the beach, and enjoy a seafood lunch. In the afternoon, head to Varengeville-sur-Mer to take in sweeping panoramas from the cliffs and visit one of the area’s beautiful gardens.

Veules-les-Roses and the Cliffs of Étretat: Wander through one of France’s most beautiful villages, Veules-les-Roses, with its charming streets and beach promenade. After lunch, take a scenic walk along the cliffs of Étretat, made famous by Impressionist painters.

Medieval and Impressionist Normandy 

Le Havre, Impressionism, and Medieval Abbeys: Begin the day in Le Havre, the birthplace of Impressionism, then cross the Normandy Bridge to Honfleur for a stroll around this charming artists’ harbor town. In the afternoon, visit the Abbey of Jumièges nestled in the Seine River valley, or the Abbey of Bec-Hellouin—listed among the most beautiful villages in France and known for its organic farm

Rouen, Medieval City and Monet’s Gardens: Start your day in Giverny with a visit to Monet’s house and gardens. In the afternoon, explore Château Gaillard in Les Andelys, or head straight to Rouen, the capital of Normandy, known for its rich medieval heritage: museums, cathedral, shopping, and lively streets.

Paris, Normandy & the Seine Valley: From Normandy, follow the Seine all the way to Paris and enjoy a day trip to the capital, easily accessible by car or train from Auffay station—just 5 minutes from the estate, with free parking available.

Mont Saint-Michel Bay: The MontSaint-Michel, a breathtaking architectural marvel perched on a rocky islet, is one of Normandy’s UNESCO World Heritage treasures.
 Caen, D-Day and Deauville Beaches: It’s accessible for a full day trip from the estate, with the option to stop by the beaches of Deauville or the Caen Memorial, which explores World War II, the Cold War, and peace.

You can also head north to the Somme Bay, ranked among the world’s most beautiful bays for its wetlands, sand dunes, and estuaries—home to migratory birds and seals.
